Alma Hitchcock dies aged 82

NZPA Los Angeles Alma Reville Hitchcock, a screenwriter and widow of director Alfred Hitchcock, has died at the age of 82.

Mrs Hitchcock had a stroke years ago and was in deteriorating health even before Hitchcock’s death in 1980 at the age of 80.

She worked with Hitchcock from the beginning of his film career, starting as a script girl and eventually helping write and edit some of his movies.

She took writing credit for “Suspicion/’ “Shadow Of A Doubt,” “The Paradine Case," and “Stage Fright" Her other scripts included “The Constant Nymph,” "After The Verdict” and “It’s In The Bag.”
