PA . Auckland About 6000 Kenwood food processors are being recalled for modification " after a ? potential electrical , hazard was discovered.. by the. Consumers’ Institute.’ .'■ The/ institute’s ; assistant director, Mr David Russell, said yesterday, that the Kenwood Al4l processors had failed a routine spillage test and he warned that an electric shock could result if the fault was not. fixed. In the test, liquid was spilt* over the machine’s electrical components which could have created a serious elec-, trical hazard. The: distributor, the Ken-
wood . Manufacturing Company, Ltd, introduced the processor to New. Zealand in 1980, and estimated about . 6000 had been released. The company’s managing director, Mr Desmond Wicks, said that some of the devices . had a seal component missing which would have to be imported from Japan, where they were made.. . .. . If this was not practicable, the-’.company would' make . them in New'Zealand. Mr Wicks said. that recent shipments of the/ processors had not been tested on the basis/of. past'performance; No previous complaint had been received nor had any accident been reported.;';. ./•
