Domestic violence
Domestic violence is one of the most difficult areas for police to operate in satisfactorily. Bad communication. fear and legal inadequences often result in repealed beatings and sometimes even death. In "Close Up" (One. 8 p.m. today) Carole De Colville will investigate just what the . police are doing right, and wrong, in cases of domestic violence. In Patea, when the local meatworks goes the town's future could go as well. Martyn Bates will look at Patea's struggle for survival.
The first Maori saint — that is the hope of the people of the small North Island community of Jerusalem. Alison Parr went to the town where they are waiting for three miracles.
