Apprentice fined
PA Ashburton The Riccarton apprentice jockey. Grant Davison, was fined $5O and his mount, Dreamville. , disqualified from first placing after the running of the First Seafield Handicap at Ashburton yesterday. It was found that Dreamville shifted inwards when under pressure and interfered with the secondplaped horse Le Valet (J. R. Moffat). The placings were subsequently reversed. T. Matthews, the rider of Mhorso in the Trial Handicap. weighed in 1 kilogram less than his weigh-out weight. Matthews was fined $3O and Mhorso disqualified from fourth placing. Hands 'N Heels was promoted from fifth to fourth. D. Crozier, the rider of Penny Trelay in the Second Seafield Handicap, was fined $4O for weighing in .75 kilograms heavier than his weigh-out weight. Crozier said he had added a breastplate to his gear.
