Personnel changes at troubled CCL
Personnel changes at Computer Consultants, Ltd, have been announced at the same time as the release of the company's annual results. CCL incurred a net loss of more than $700,000 in the year ended March 31. "While we are all disappointed with the result, action taken over the last six months had restored profitability to the group." said the chairman of directors (Mr E. A. Cornish). managing director of the Rotorua-based United Publishing and Printing, and Mr J. W. Holdsworth, formerly deputy general manager of the Development Finance Corporation. United Publishing and Printing has invested preference and debenture capital totalling $1 million in CCL, with an option to take up an additional 100,000 ordinary shares. The CCL board has also appointed Mr Dennis Rowe managing director of the CCL group. Mr Rowe was formerly deputy managing director and the general manager of the company’s bureau division.
Mr Rowe's appointment follows the retirement, of CCL's former managing director, Mr Ken Fraser. CCL has created a new executive position, that of general manager — finance. It will be filled by Mr George Tuffin, previously accounting controller. As part of its recent rationalisation the company had sold its Australian CPT word processor distributorship. It will continue to sell CPT equipment in New Zealand. "This, and other measures taken will ensure that we can again bring the full resource of management talent in the company to support our traditional and well-established products and services." Mr Cornish said.
