Pantyhose reminiscent of silk stockings

Sheer support pantyhose New from Hip-Hi are "Supersheer Vitality" support pantyhose. These light-weight, sheer looking 20 denier hose are made from alternate courses of clear lycra spandex yarn and regular texturis&i yarn. The spandex yarn gives support, .the texturised yarn gives stretch. A plain knit construction is used, and the simple flat stitch gives a smooth, sheei appearance. The hose have a shaped legline which allows a sleek fit — they won't slide around, pull or twist on the leg. This is one of the findings of a survey on take-aways completed by the Consumers Institute, reported in the May issue of "Consumer.” The price range for a scoop of chips was found to be from 20c to 60c. The standard. purchase was 200 gm, although a 300 gm serve of chips was not uncommon.

Most New Zealand fish and chip shops still prepare their own chips, though some buy them frozen ready to fry or even par-fried. Animal fat is almost always used for frying. Batter is mainly just flour, baking powder and water. A wide variety of fish is used. The survey also revealed that fish and chip shops generally give more generous measures than do the "mixed" take-away bars.
