Man saw two films

Detectives are now satisfied that Mr Alfred Anderson sat right through a doublefeature screening at the Odeon Theatre on Friday. June 4 — the night he was killed.

-A map and report in “The Press" last Saturday -had "jogged the memory" of two other theatre patrons, who had confirmed that Mr Anderson had been sitting in the upstairs gallery, near the end of a row. and that he had not. left before the second film finished at 11.25 p.m.. said Detective Senior-Ser-geant R. A. Meikle yesterday.

The films shown on the evening of Friday. June 4. were "Emanuelle in America" and "Playbirds.’-'

The police would still like to hear from any other person who might have seen Mr Anderson in the theatre, or afterwards.

The next morning. Mr Anderson was found dead in the lounge of his flat at the corner of Waltham Road and Hastings Street. His throat and head had been slashed.

Although the hunt for Mr Anderson’s killer is now 24 days old. there are no plans to scale down the big police inquiry. ’
