Profit motive decried
NZPA Barcelona The President of Barcelona’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry has accused Spain’s World Cup organisers of trying to squeeze, too much out of tourists. "There have to be a lot of changes between now and the cup final (on July 11) if we are to alter the impression that Spain has. not made
use of a historic occasion to improve its foreign image," said Jose Maria Feigueras. He said the main preoccupation of ; the- World Cup Organising Committee had been commercial profit. “In the matter of match tickets and hotels an attempt was made to squeeze the tourist when the ideal thing would have been to emphasise the quality of service."
