Fastest goal in finals?
NZPA Bilbao Official match statistics issued by tournament organisers gave 27 seconds as the time for Bryan Robson’s goal for England against France yesterday. If confirmed. Robson would be entitled to put in a
claim for the World Cup record for the fastest goal and he would be one of two contenders for a place in the record books. Ollye Nyberg, of Sweden, scored early in the match against Hungary in 1938, but timings tor the goal vary from 25 to 35 seconds.
