World Cup worries

NZPA staff correspondent Marbella The New Zealand World Cup soccer team to play Russia at Malaga on Sunday is expected to be named tomorrow after a close scrutiny of the side's defects in the 5-2 loss to Scotland. The Scotland game was videotaped for the team's study, and the manager, John Adshead. will use the tape to help plug some of the gaps which were evident in the Kiwi defence.

Before he names his side. Mr Adshead's permutations could be complicated by injury worries surrounding the vice-captain and sweepep. Bobby Almond, and the striker. Wynton Rufer. Almond strained an Achilles tendon in the Scotland game, and Rufer had to leave the pitch for treatment to a twisted ankle. Both could only walk with difficulty yesterday. World Cup news, page 17
