Saxophonist dies
The alto saxophone innovator, Art Pepper, whose unique style helped pioneer progressive jazz from the 1940 s to the ’6os, has died after a stroke that had sent him into a coma. He was 56. Pepper never regained consciousness after being admitted to hospital. — Los Angeles.
