S2M buy of Auck. property
PA Auckland A recently established public company. Landmark Properties. Ltd. has purchased four adjoining buildings in central Auckland for almost $2 million.
Although not specifying the price paid for the buildings. a Landmark director. Mr 0. Newland, said that it was the second highest in Auckland this year, behind that of the former Bank of New Zealand building in
Queen Street. The company bought Victoria House a five-storey building on the corner of Victoria Street East and Lome Street — and the two adjoining three-storey buildings in Lome Street’, called the Paterson Buildings.
Included in the sale, which was made through Challenge Properties. Ltd. w T as a 52-car parking building with a Kitchener Street frontage. The company, whose board chairman is the National Party president (Sir George Chapman) said that its investment was in “prime freehold real estate, with the purpose of maximum rental returns and capital gain.”
