Cease-fire maintained
Iraq said yesterday it was maintaining ’ a three-day-old unilateral cease-fire with Iran despite daily artilleryfire from Iranian forces. A military communique said the Iranians had shelled Iraqi military positions and directed artillery fire at vital installations in the Iraqi port oi Basra. Iraqi military communiques over the lasi three days have said that the Iraqis were responding only when fired upon but that they are maintaining a complete standdown in militaryoperations. — Manama.
