Poverty Bay thrashed
PA Gisborne Scoring nine tries including a penalty try. the Junior All Blacks thrashed Poverty Bay by 50-0 at Gisborne yesterday. The Poverty Bay forwards, rated among the best packs in the North Island last year, were shut out of the game by the powerful under 23-year-olds.
The Juniors' forwards were fast to the frequent breaks in play and after leading 18-0 at half time, thev ran riot in the second half. For the Juniors, tries by Clamp (4). Martin Torrance, Halligan, Alan Whetton. Chris Ellis, plus a penaltytry. Halligan kicked seven conversions missing only with two attempts at goal.
