One of the most popular recreational spots on the West Coast is Lake Brunner. The lake was originally called Lake of the White Heron or Moana Kotuku. This photograph was taken at Mitchells on the southern, side of the lake. Red deer and chamois abound at the top of the ranges around the lake. Fishing, boating, swimming and the many walks through the native forest attract visitors to the area.
