Europeans worried

NZPA-Reuter Paris West European leaders had expressed concern to the British Prime Minister (Mrs Margaret Thatcher) over the chances of reaching a longterm political solution to the Falklands crisis, said the West German Government spokesman. Klaus Boelling. The Europeans, meeting at the seven-nation summit conference at Versailles were increasingly anxious-that a new political initiative would not be possible if Britain retook the Falklands captial of Port Stanley from Argentina by force, he said. “They reaffirmed < their support for Britain in the dispute but they also questioned what would happen once all the military objectives were achieved." Mr Boelling said. The fighting in the Falklands and the likelihood of more bloodshed if Britain attacked the captial ,were discussed at length over dinner. Mrs Thatcher said yesterday that President Ronald Reagan had assured her, that United States support for Britain remained very firm.
