General forecast: Scattered showers should continue in the east of the North Island and about Wellington with fresh to strong cold southerlies, over the rest of the North Island the weather should be mainly fine, apart from showers in Northland. Coastal showers are likely along the South Island east coast but these, should become isolated during the day in Otago and Southland. In the remainder of the South Island it should remain fine.
