Support for Methven debentures
There is no doubt that the Methven Trotting Club’s building project will go ahead, according io the president of the club, Mr Ron May. The club’s quest for debenture money to help finance the project has exceeded all expectations. "Some members of the committee have yet to complete their canvassing so a final figure is not yet available; but it is certain to be greater than we had estimated," said Mr May. “We're absolutely delighted with the response from persons in the district, many of whom are not regular attenders of our meetings. However, they don’t want to see anything happen which might affect our future."
