‘Press’ Cup points
Burnside, a handsome winner, and University B. which although beaten gave 'its best display of the season, were the only teams to earn full marks in either category of "The Press" Centennial Cup senior rugby competition on Saturday. Both scored eight out of eight for how well they played to their abilities.
Eight teams shared the top mark of 10, out • of 12. for sportsmanship. One of these was Linwood, which with a total of 16. retained its seven-point lead on the table.-
For the first time players sent to the sin bin incurred an immediate three-pomt penalty for their sides, and the two lowest scorers, Albion and High School Old Boys, both lost points in this wav.
The two sides were in opposition and the players who. at
different times, were off the field were Murray Davie (Albion) and Rob Pope. Points awarded on Saturday were.—
