Emperor produces more gold
PA Melbourne Emperor Mines. Ltd. Melbourne. yesterday estimated that gold production in the year to June 30 will show a rise of 59.6 per cent to 44,000 ounces. That- figure would represent an increase of 17.780 ounces from last year's total of 26.220 ounces. Emperor said it produced 38.300 ounces in the 11
months to May 27 and expected to produce another 5700 ounces by June 30. Despite its increased gold production, the EML group reported a loss in the first six months to December 31. of SI.9M. In addition to gold mining, the group is also involved in timber milling and merchandising. quarrying, and wholesale and retail trading.
