Acropolis rally to Mouton
Michele Mouton, of France, yesterday won the tough Acropolis Rally in Greece, the fifth round of the world championship. Miss Mouton led from start to finish in her four-wheel-drive Audi Quattro to win by 14 minutes from the championship leader, Walter Rohrl, of West Germany (Opel Ascona). The Acropolis is the second world-championship event Miss Mouton has won this year and .her victory, coupled with her win in the San .Remo rally last season, places her firmly in the ranks of the world’s best drivers. . Both Miss Mouton and Walter Rohrl will contest the next world-championship round, the Motogard Rally in New Zealand, starting -on June 26. Miss Mouton’s victory may
embarrass the Motogard organisers, as they have, seeded her a lowly ninth, when it seems that she may. now have a fair chance of winning the event.
