Market stays mixed
Share prices remained mixed on a moderately active New Zealand sharemarket yesterday, in spite of some generally favourable profit reports by leading companies. New Zealand Steel rose 2c to 210 c after announcing its profit increase, but Ballins lost 1c to 137 c in spite of reporting a higher result. Canterbury Frozen Meat firmed Bc, but Waitaki N.Z. Refrigerating eased 2c even after news that the Iranian lamb deal had been settled. Goodman Group rose 5c to 255 c on its improved profit, and proposed bonus and rights issues. The N.Z.U.C. industrial index eased 0.19 points to close at 663.46.
