Three new ballets this year
PA Wellington Three new ballets by New Zealand choreographers and another by an Australian, Graeme Murphy, will be danced by the New Zealand Ballet this year to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of Stravinsky’s birth.
The works were set to Stravinsky’s “Firebird,’’ "Orpheus,” string concerto, and duo concertante. a New Zealand Ballet spokesman said. The New Zealanders. Gray Verdon and Nicholas Carroll, will return from Europe for the performances of their works. The other New Zealand choreographer is the New Zealand Ballet’s resident ballet master, Peter Boyes. ;
