Mrs Elizabeth Hiatt, a resident of the Nurse Maude Hospital, who is celebrating her hundredth birthday today. With her is Sister Diana Pennell. Mrs Hiatt was born at Rosedale, Killinchy, and has spent all her life in Canterbury. She is the last surviving pupil of Mrs Wilson’s School for Young Ladies, which was in Cranmer Square. Mrs Hiatt is also the oldest living member of the New Zealand Red Cross, which she joined in 1910.
