Nukumai keen
Special
Palmerston -North
Nukumai has not raced since His Foxton Cup win but the Awapuni stayer completed his final trial for the Suzuki Handicap at Wanganui tomorrow in pleasing fashion at Awapuni yesterday morning. Nukumai was given a week off after Foxton. He came back better than ever and two gallops this week have topped him off nicely. Nukumai galloped on the course proper, which is in good order for this time of the year. As usual he showed keeness early, then eased over the final stages to run 1600 m in Imin 465, the last 600 m in 41s. ■ . There was little between London Trader and Solitaire at the end of 1400 m in Imin 375, the last 600 m in 40.65. London Trader should have, ground to suit him if the weather holds.
