New Land-Rover has more options
The evergreen Land-Rover has appeared in yet another guise in Britain in recent weeks. A four-door stationwaggon is now being offered with two seating configurations, either for seven or 12 occupants. Engine options are fourcylinder petrol and diesel engines, each with the new five-bearing crankshaft, and the V 8 petrol engine as is fitted to the Land-Rover’s more opulent but close relation. the Range Rover. The Land-Rover stationwaggon has been given-new seats, contoured for support and upholstered in hardwearing tweed cloth. Roof, door and slide panels are
insulated to provide a quiet ride. Economy options for the new model include freewheeling hubs, overdrive for reduced engine speeds and longer wear and radial-ply tyres for better economy and longer tyre life. A high-capacity pick-up truck to the same specification as the station-waggon has also been launched by Land- Rover. These new models form part of a $466 million investment programme, which has already seen the introduction of a four-door Range Rover and the VB-engined LandRover.
