Teacher training
Sir,—l wish to bring to your attention the present quality of teaching campaign organised by the trainees’ associations of New Zealand. It is our aim to convince the public that teacher training is important and valuable and that the high standard is good and must be maintained. The expected chops in the training of teachers and teachers’ colleges is a devastating thought to all those involved in the teaching profession, whether fully qualified or training. I cannot emphasise the importance of maintaining and improving the high standard of teacher training enough, as this directly affects children’s future. It is imperative that the public recognise this fact and support our stand. — Yours, etc., FLEUR BRAITHWAITE. May 26. 1982.
