Inquiries at Oamaru
PA Oamaru Tito Poblete was suspended from race riding until next Monday at the Oamaru Jockey Club’s meeting on Saturday.
Poblete, the rider of Ernest in the Norwood Handicap, was found by the judicial committee to have caused crowding to Karanga and Final Surge early in the run home.
Ta Tay was found to have severe respiratory distress after the Oamaru Handicap. He was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon after dropping out from a handy position to the tail of the field.' Bruce Robertson, the rider of Hunting The Snark, was told to take more positive action to control his mount after the Tokarahi Hurdles. Hunting The Snark hung out badly and ran extremely wide after jumping the second-last fence, losing several lengths. King Muffin injured a suspensory ligament during the Burnside Steeplechase.
