Manawatu Knitting Mills, Ltd, increased its unaudited group net profit 4.4 per cent to $167,000 in the six months to April 19, compared with the corresponding period last year, the directors said in a brief announcement yesterday.
the profit was after providing $5OOO more for tax at $117,000. There were no realised profits in the latest six months, compared with $28,000 previously. The pre-tax profit was 4.4 per cent ahead at $284,000. A steady interim dividend of 3.5 c a share (7 per cent) is payable on July 19, ex dividend on June 29.
