Sweaters are back in style

Good news this winter . . . the sweater is back. After years of wearing sweatshirts, it appears that women are tired of the sporty, “just back from jogging” look and want to look classy again. So they’re turning to the favourite of yore, the sweater. This winter’s colours are as bold as the designs — “biro” blue, geranium red, and jungle green. “city sweater” — a V-necked, sloppy joe in plain or striped lambswool, to the “terrific toppers” in cuddly boucle ribs and mohair blends. Animal prints in angora blend and long-line sweaters like the tabard, with shaped shoulders and natty necks have a prominent place in the sweater story. Sonny’s jacquard jumpers carry the Italian knitwear influence, and are designed with boat-neck and turtleneck styling.
