Narrow tennis victory
NZPA-Reuter Grenelefe, Florida The defending champion, Martina Navratilova, narrowly defeated the unseeded 18-year-old, Bettina Bunge, 62, 3-6, 7-6 to advance to the quarter-finals of the $200,000 United Airlines women’s tennis tournament yesterday night. The second seed, Andrea Jaeger, also made her first appearance of the tourna- ' ment yesterday with a 6-4, 6-
2, victory over a fellow American, Kathy Jordan. Two other seeded players, Mima Jausovec, of Yugoslavia, and Barbara Potter, of the United States, played their first matches yesterday after receiving opening round byes. Jausovec beat Duk Hee Lee, of South Korea, 3-6, 6-1, 6-3, and Potter beat a Briton, Sue Barker, 6-3, 6-2. In another singles match, an American, Lisa Bonder, upset Laura Arraya, of Peru, 6-4, 6-2.
