Ardiles won’t return
NZPA Buenos Aires Tottenham Hotspur’s Argentine international, Osvaldo Ardiles, no longer wants to play in England because of the dispute between Argentina and Britain over the Falkland Islands, reports in Buenos Aires said yesterday. Ardiles. who left England
early in April to join Argentina’s World Cup squad, was quoted as saying: “I don’t believe I will return to Tottenham and I don’t want to.” Spurs retained the right to recall Ardiles for key games if necessary, but his release was arranged before the dispute broke out.
