Client stole chequebook
PA New Plymouth A New Plymouth solicitor, Miss A. V. Dravitzki, represented William Storm Kareha Wilson when he appeared in the District Court at New Plymouth yesterday — but not when he appeared in the afternoon. buring the lunch break, Wilson had stolen her chequebook, written out a
cheque for $lOO, and tried to cash it. When Wilson appeared again in the afternoon, represented by Mr J. E. Macdonald, he admitted stealing the chequebook, forging the cheque, and uttering it. Sergeant T. J. McGreevy* told the Court the chequebook had been taken from a briefcase in the law library at the courthouse.
Wilson, aged 19, unemployed, of Hastings, told the police he wanted the money to get home. He had in the morning admitted charges involving breaking and entering and interfering with cars at Waitara. Judge Dalmer remanded him in custody for a probation officer's report and sentence.
