Queensland campaign for Cambridge team
Special correspondent The Cambridge trainer, Ray Cleaver;- plans to take a team to /Queensland for winter racing, early next month. The Te.Rapa apprentice, “Baz” DowUng, who has now recovered from the broken right hip he suffered in a race fall at Trentham last January, /will ride for the stable ip his first trip overseas/ Dowling expects to obtain
a medical clearance tomorrow. A light-weight, who can ride at 47 kilograms, Dowling has ridden 19 winners this season. He Jias, ridden some track work for Cleaver this week in preparation for his planned return to raceriding at Tauranga on Saturday. Elmar, which won. in Queensland last winter for Cleaver, and Pardon Me,
which was placed, are to make the trip again. Cleaver will decide the final composition of his team after some of the lesser-tried members of his team compete at the Cambridge trials today and after the racing at Tauranga on Saturday. General Weyand and the juvenile, Right Dream, which joined the stable last spring, are among those for which the trip is being considered.
