IBM has announced overseas a new System/38 processor, the Model 7. The Model 7 is a faster processor than the Model 5 and supports up to four million bytesof main memory, which is twice the capacity of the Model. 5. sors a future upgrade path. Hewlett-Packard has announced a new electronic mail system for use with HP 3000 computers. The package allows users on an HP 3000 to send messages to other users, either on the same HP 3000 or on another HP 3000 in a multiple system network. The user’s terminal can be a desktop computer connected to an HP 3000, as well as any HP 3000 terminal.
