‘White oil’ pipeline announced
PA Wellington Construction of a "white oil” products pipeline from Marsden Point to Wiri and a natural gas pipeline from Westfield to Ruakaka has been announced. The Minister of Energy (Mr Birch) said significant capital-cost savings would be made by placing both pipelines in the same trench for much of the route. He said work on the pipleine was expected to start soon and to be completed in 1984.
