Diplomat’s new post
PA Wellington New Zealand's next Ambassador to The Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden will be Mr Basil Bolt, the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Mr Cooper) has announced. Mr Bolt succeeds Mr Gray Thorp, who will retire from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and will work from The Hague, taking up his new post next month. From 1974 to 1978 Mr Bolt was Ambassador in Vienna, from where he was also accredited as Ambassador to Hungary, Rumania, Poland, and Czechoslovakia. In 1978 he took up his present post as Ambassador in Bonn, accredited also to Switzerland.
