Lamb pelts down

Another reduction in the price for lamb pelts has been made in the export schedule for farmers next week. Woolly and shorn lamb skins have gone down 10c each, reflecting the continuing decline in the demand for pickled lamb pelts.- No change has been made in payments for sheep skins. The meat schedule prices for lamb, mutton and beef remain unchanged also. The Government supplementary payments for beef have dropped to 6c a kilogram for prime grade and risen to 12c a kilogram for bull beef. The supplement for manufacturing grade remains at 21c. The P.P.C.S. has announced through the Press Association that it will continue its beef premium next week, at a slightly altered level. Cattle killed on behalf of the society from Pukeuri north will attract a premium of $12.50, compared with $l5 for the last week, and cattle killed from Burnside south will attract a premium of $7.50, down from $lO last week.
