It is intended that the successful applicant will lake over the duties of the Corporation's Medical Controller in approximately 12 months time. Wide clinical experience and a background in medical administration would be of advantage to the appointee whose duties will cover the Corporation’s full range of medical activity including: - Liaison with the medical and para-medical professional groups. - Direct contact with Government departments, and other appropriate agencies and organisations on matters involving clinical medicine and medical rehabilitation. - Ensuring that Corporation staff involved with the administration of compensation claims receive the necessary professional assistance in respect of medical matters. - Monitoring the payment of medical and paramedical fees for treatment of claimants who have suffered personal injury by accident. This position presents a unique opportunity for an experienced practitioner to enter the field of social and administrative medicine. Although the Corporation is seeking the services of a full-time practitioner it would be prepared to enter into discussions with suitable applicants who are prepared to work on a sessional basis provided they would be available to the Corporation lor 75-80 per cent of the normal working week.
