Public Notices MOUNT HERBERT COUNTY COUNCIL THE TOWN AND COUNTRY Planning act 1977 PUBLIC NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGES TO COUNTY OF MOUNT HERBERT DISTRICT SCHEME THE Mount Herbert County Councii has prepared proposed changes to the District Scheme under Section 55 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1977. The following is a summary and explanation of the proposed changes: Change No. 3 — Reserve Policy and Reserve Designation to be deleted in Governor's Bay. SUMMARY: Change No. 3 is to promote the establishment of a major reserve for community facilities at a central location in Governor's Bay. by clearly stating the Council’s policy to acquire land in the area of Certificate of Title 7CMI6 (on the western side of the Governors Bay-Teddington Road approximately 300 m south of the Governors Bay Hotel) and by deleting a relatively small area of proposed reserve on the periphery of the existing settlement (near Sandy Beach Road). EXPLANATION: The Council believes that the present scheme policies have resulted in land being vested principally for the purposes of passive reserves, and while these have had the effect of enhancing the character of the community through the preservation of areas in their natural state, a more positive approach is now required to secure an area for active recreation if possible, and for community facilities. Change No. 4. SUMMARY Change No. 4 is to show the unformed legal road off Merlincote Crescent (adjacent to the Cholmondeiey Home) between the land in Certificates of Title 450/299 and 345/264 as road to be stopped. EXPLANATION: The land is no longer required as road. Change No. 5 - Rezoning of Land in Port Levy.SUMMARY’: Change No. 5 is to rezone the portion of Pt M.R. 382 to the west of the road to the wharf at Port Levy, from Rural to Residential. EXLANATION: A more logical rural/residential zone boundary will result by Including all the land, west of the road, that is suitable for residential use in that area.
