Universities cricket team
Two Canterbury students have been included in' the New Zealand Universities cricket team announced after the Easter summer sports tournament, held for the first time in Hamilton. The Canterbury University captain, Tony Gray, has been chosen primarily as an off-spin bowler. Stephen Sansom made the side as a batsman who can also keep wicket. The 13-strong team, which will be the first to play for several years, is scheduled' to make an internal tour alter final
examinations in November. Opposition is likely to come from North Island minor associations. None ot those selected has first-class experience yet. although the left-arm spinner. Stuart Duff (Massey), was twelfth man for Central’ Districts during the 1981-82 Shell Series.
