Four courses for orienteers

The A course was dominated by Canterbury’s most experienced representatives. Graham Boniface and Alex Cook, in the Peninsula and Plains orienteers event at Orton Bradley Park recently. Boniface took the honours by three minutes. Four courses were available, each presenting progressively more difficult physical and navigational challenges and using the features and terrain of the park to make the routes varied and interesting. Many schoolchildren competed as a build up to the inter-school championships on April 21. Con-

sistently fast times were recorded over all courses — the result of good weather and perfect orienteering terrain. Results: A course — G. Boniface, 63:52, 1; A. Cook. 66:56. 2; R. Stanton. 85:48. 3; D. Guest, 86:46. 4. B course — J. Christie, 34:13.1; B. Roonev. 40:42. 2: P. Larkins. 5644, 3: P. Murphy, 51:04. 4. C course — J. Graham. 25:02. .1; L. Paterson. 29:25. 2; G.
