Trophy for drivers
Special correspondent Auckland Two Aucklanders, ron Hanford and Max Harvery, have given a trophy for the Australasian Junior Drivers’ Championship which will be held for the first time in Victoria next week. The event will be run annually and it is expected the trophy will be held in the winner’s home island or state.
New Zealand’s representatives this year, tony Herlihy, of Pukekohe, Robin Swain (Gore) and Jum Curtin (Christchurch), will fly to Melbourne tomorrow. The series consists of two races each evening at Kilmore on Monday, Ballarat on Friday and Moonee Valley on Saturday. Mr Hanford will attend the series and personally present the trophy to the InterDominion Trotting Council.
