Megan’s Boy out
NZPA staff correspondentLondon The New Zealand steeplechaser, Megan’s Boy, has been scratched from the Scottish Grand National because of the very firm ground expected for the running of the race at Ayr today. “He just doesn’t like that sort of going so it’s pointless to start him," his trainer, Ted Carter, told N.Z.P.A.
yesterday. Carter said Megan’s Boy appeared to have recovered fully from the blood disorder which kept him out of the English Grand National Steeplechase at Aintree earlier this month and his withdrawal from the Scottish event was influenced solely by the ground. ■ He will be aimed for the Whitbread Gold Cup at Sandown next Saturday,
