It began at school
Clark Brandon and Jonathan Prince, who appear in “Mr Merlin” on Two tonight, were boyhood friends in Los Angeles. Brandon wanted to start acting while in school but his family persuaded him to finish his education uninterrupted. “So while I was in Beverly Hills High School I took all of the drama and music classes I could fit in,” he says, “and starred in the school productions of ‘Godspell’ and ‘U.S.A.’ I also learned to play the guitar and drums." After graduating, Brandon studied drama. His dramatic debut came when he was cast as the teen-age son in the series "The Fitzpatricks.” Although the series didn’t last long, it gave him a teenage following. Jonathan Prince is a Harvard University graduate. While he was at Harvard he acted in productions of “Marat/Sade,” “Romeo and Juliet,” “H.M.S. Pinafore," "Figaro," "Two Gentlemen From Verona" and “Cabaret."
