Facades of the front of the White House and the nearby Blair House, used for visiting foreign leaders, as well as a park across the street, are to be built for SUSI. 6 million in nearby Maryland as part of a major expansion of training facilities, a Secret Service spokesman said. — Washington. Parker sues Elvis Presley’s manager. Tom Parker, is asking a court to liquidate Presley’s SUS2S million estate and give him half the proceeds, saying he was not employed by the late entertainer but was a business partner with him. Mr Parker, who is 72, guided Presley’s career and handled the singer’s finances for more than 20 years. After Presley’s death in 1977, Mr Parker was kept on to manage the estate’s business affairs until last year, when a probate court judge in Memphis, ordered-the estate to cut off payments to him. The judge also ordered the estate to sue Mr Parker to recover ah undetermined amount of money which the judge said should have gone to the estate. — Memphis. Contempt deal President Reagan’s counsel has agreed to a compromise to halt contempt of Congress proceedings against the Interior Secretary (Mr James Watt), Congressmen have said. They said that a White House counsel had agreed that members of the House of Representatives Commerce Committee could see certain documents which the Interior Secretary had been withholding. Contempt proceedings would probably be dropped as a result, they said. — Washington. ■; Ancient find A Chinese peasant cleaning a drainage ditch, discovered a rare 2200-year-old bronze vessel filled with 20kg of gold coins and other objects, the official Xinhua news agency.has reported. Xinhua said the vessel, covered with gold animals, was the first of its kind found in China. Among 11 gold coins from what was then the State of Chu. was one the size off a hand — measuring 12.7 cm by 7.9 cm — the biggest •of its kind to be found in China. Xinhua added. — Peking. ■
