N.Z.M.C. replies
PA Wellington The New Zealand Motor Corporation had been prepared to stand in the market for Healing shares, the group administration manager (Mr David Carson-Parker) said yesterday. He was replying to Stock Exchange criticism of the method of the 24.9 per cent acquisition of Healing shares. “N.Z.M.C.’s brokers—Buttle, Wilson and Companyhad, however, found that this was not required because there had been several willing sellers of large parcels of Healing shares,” Mr CarsonParker said. "Buttle Wilson acted swiftly and efficiently on N.Z.M.C.’s behalf, and did so without disrupting the market,” he said. Mr Carson-Parker added that he was sure that the bid was completed within the requirements of the Stock Exchange Association.
