Ashburton man wins AMP award
Mr Joe Byrne, of Ashburton. was recently given recognition by the AMP Society for being one of its best insurance salesmen in New Zealand. • The society presented Mr Byrne with its ‘ Golden Ribbon" award because of his success in the insurance field. In 1981, Mr Byrne was responsible for arranging about $4 million worth of insurance protection for his Ashburton clients. Mr Byrne is one of only 18 AMP insurance officers who have been given the ‘‘Golden Ribbon.” and has the distinction of being the first member from the South Island to win the award. Mr Byrne has represented the AMP Society''in Ashburton since 1948, and his son, John, recently joined the organisation.
