Hospital services
Sir,—So the N.C.H.B. will have its funding cut by 0.70 per cent. We are assured that patient services will not be damaged, although “new services would have to be funded by abandoning existing services.” Which "existing”, services will be lost because of the opening of the new children’s psychiatric unit at Christchurch Hospital?—Yours, etc LESLIE LEARMONTH. March 4, 1982. [The chairman of the North Canterbury Hospital Board, Mr T. C. Grigg, replies: "No existing services will be lost because of the opening of the new children’s unit at Christchurch Hospital as this unit is financed separately by way of a specific commissioning grant received solely for the operating of this unit.”]
