Press Union fellowship
PA New Plymouth The news editor of the •■Daily Telegraph” newspapers in Napier, Mr Terry Tacon, has been awarded the 1982 Harry Brittain Memorial Fellowship by the Commonwealth Press Union. The chairman of the New Zealand section of the union, Mr R. J. Avery, said that this was the twenty-sixth fellowship awarded to a New Zealander since the fellowship scheme, which is named
after the founder of the union. Sir Harry Brittain, who died in 1974, had been inaugurated. The fellowship is tenable for about two months in Britain and includes attachments to British newspapers, newspaper courses, and a regional tour of Britain. Mr Tacon will join other members of the Commonwealth Fellowship Group in London in mid-May.
